Isooctyl Cyanoacrylate (Topical Medical Adhesive)
Product Name: Isooctyl Cyanoacrylate (Topical Medical Adhesive)
Chinese Name: α-氰基丙烯酸异辛酯(医用胶 涂抹型)
Specification Model: 0.5ml/vial, 1.0ml/vial, 2.0ml/vial
Product Properties: This product is a colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid. The polymerization and curing time depends on the type of tissue contacted, the type of bodily fluid, and the amount of product used. When used correctly, it generally starts to cure in 5 to 15 seconds and completes curing in 30 to 120 seconds. After curing, a flexible and tough film is formed, reaching its maximum strength and no longer being sticky; at this point, other tissues, surgical gauze, and surgical instruments can be brought into contact with it.
Main Performance Structure and Composition: The main ingredient of this product is α-cyanoacrylate isooctyl ester, with trace additives; it is equipped with sterile pipettes.
Application & Usage: It is primarily used for the adhesion and closure of superficial skin incisions, replacing or reducing the use of surgical sutures. It is suitable for the closure of surgical incisions and traumatic minor wounds, especially for areas that require high flexibility and mobility.

Application & Usage:
It is primarily used for the adhesion and closure of superficial skin incisions, replacing or reducing the use of surgical sutures. It is suitable for the closure of surgical incisions and traumatic minor wounds, especially for areas that require high flexibility and mobility.
Mechanism of Action:
This product undergoes rapid polymerization under the initiation of anions in wound blood and tissue fluid, solidifying into a film and forming an elastic adhesive film with good toughness and high tensile strength. Under electron microscopy, the film exhibits a continuous network structure that can adhere closely to the wound surface, thereby achieving wound adhesion and closure. This network structure can effectively block the passage of blood cells and platelets and seal the broken small vascular network, achieving reliable hemostasis. When applied on the body surface, the adhesive film usually falls off naturally within 10 to 14 days with the epidermal keratinization process. Compared to short-chain similar products, the adhesive film of this product after curing has better flexibility and toughness, and its performance is similar to that of n-octyl ester, making it a suitable alternative or co-monomer for use.
